The weekend was pretty good. Light wind on Saturday with a lot of kiters, then better wind and almost no one on Sunday. Monday and Tuesday will not see any wind but then it looks like we'll start a good several day blow lasting through next weekend. Sue sent me some photos.
The San Carlos kiteboarding report is mostly about wind, kite boarding, beaches and bikinis in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico and a few other places. Lots of photos and up to date reports of all the beach action. If you would like to contact me directly about kiting in San Carlos or about kite boarding instruction, my email is: kite420@gmail.com (Donald)

It's the Weekend!
A lot of people showed up and got out on the water despite the fact that the wind probably never blew much above 15 knots. The lack of wind was balanced by flat water and warm weather. It was a very nice day. Buoy is calling for 13 to 18 knots on Sunday.
By the way, water temperature was 64 degrees. That's a bit warmer than normal for this time of year.

I didn't make it out to the beach Wednesday due to WORK. I do still have a wind update, though. Here it is, thanks to Sue Mohr:
Today the wind was generally the pits. Except when Glenn did a down-winder from La Manga 2. The wind was perfect at 1:30 for that. He made it to Algodones in no time flat. Then it was great for awhile, quite strong and smooth. Then I went out for a short time and it was good too. Then the wind went weird, and the second time I went out my kite fell out of the air, the wind shut off completely and everyone came straggling in (Glenn had to drag all the way down to Costa del Mar). Then when we left at 5:00 the wind came up really strong and smooth. By that time, only Fernando and Ramon and Nico were left. Glenn left his surfboard on the beach yesterday (as I was not there to pick up after him!) and didn’t realize it until he went to get it out of the van when we got to La Manga 2. When he enquired at Bonifacio’s there was a note from a Mexican kiteboarder to say that he had it, and he dropped it off today.

Jan. 2012
So far January 2012 hasn't been very good to us. We did have a few days this past week and lots of kiters showed up when the forecast looked good. Had a dozen or more kites on the water at the same time, and all were west of Soggy Peso. This coming week looks promising.

Good Day
Sunday was a good day. Warm beach weather brought out a lot of people and nice wind brought out a lot of kiters. The wind got really strong for a little while and then mellowed out at the end of the day.

Feels Like Summer
We've had temperatures in the 70's and 80's and no wind. The picture below was one of the very few days with a forecast of 20 knots, and lots of kiters showed up - but the wind didn't.
